Nicole Fraser’s campaign for City Councillor has a clear position: expect better.
Prince George has enormous potential, people and opportunities. Nicole knows that better solutions, better places and better outcomes start with how we govern, and rely on bold leadership.
She believes City Hall can do better to create a more livable and vibrant Prince George.
Why vote for Nicole?
She understands the North—and knows our worth.
Prince George is where Nicole raised her family, built her career and chose to put down roots. She loves the people, our long winters and the way we embrace them, the strong neighbourhoods, the endless opportunities to get outside and the sense of community that makes northern life so special.
With degrees from UNBC in northern and rural community planning and political science, focused on northern and remote communities, Nicole understands that solutions designed somewhere else do not always work here. Our geography, economy and way of life matter.
Nicole knows Prince George does not need to become somewhere else to succeed. We already have skilled people, strong institutions, incredible natural spaces and a strategic role connecting communities, industries and opportunities across the North.
She’ll work to strengthen Prince George’s role as British Columbia’s northern hub—building on our strengths and investing in the homes, services, places and opportunities that make it possible to build a life, raise a family and age well here.
She knows how City Hall works—and how it can work better.
Nicole has experienced City Hall from both sides. She is a former City of Prince George employee and now owns a business specializing in northern land use, policy development, community planning and building inspection.
She knows there are talented professionals inside City Hall who care deeply about this community. She also understands the frustration residents, businesses and organizations feel when systems are difficult to navigate, decisions are not clearly explained or good ideas become stuck.
Nicole knows the difference between policy that looks good on paper and policy that actually works for people.
She’ll connect what works, change what doesn’t and help build a City Hall that is more open, practical and responsive to the community it serves.
She believes in this city enough to expect better.
Nicole is not running for photo opportunities or simply to occupy a seat. She is running to do the work.
She listens before deciding, asks hard questions and is not afraid of healthy debate. She is independent-minded, practical and prepared to challenge decisions when something does not add up. But she also knows that lasting progress comes from bringing people together, finding common ground and turning good ideas into action.
Nicole does not believe Prince George lacks talent, commitment or capacity. People and organizations are already doing incredible work across our community. Too often, what is missing is the connection needed to turn that work into lasting results.
She’ll bring an independent voice, a planner’s perspective and a deep belief in what Prince George can accomplish—because this city has enormous strengths, and its people deserve leadership ready to build on them.
I understand how City processes work, but I also understand what it’s like to be on the other side — trying to navigate those processes. We need to make it easier to work with the City. We need change. It’s time to open up City Hall.

Advance our Northern Hub
• We are BC’s Northern Hub. It’s time to act like it. • Lean into our culture and uniqueness. • We have more than 9,000 years of Lheidli T’enneh history to acknowledge, northern resilience and a laid-back nature. • Embrace our role as the North's hub for health care, education, business and culture, and turn that role into more reasons for regional visitors to stay, explore and spend time in Prince George. • Assert Prince George as the headquarters of major projects and increase diversity in major projects to build local resilience, independence, skills and talent. • Connect our institutions, from UNBC and CNC to UHNBC, businesses and community organizations, around a shared vision, so Prince George can advocate more effectively for its share of provincial and federal investment.

• Give people meaningful and accessible opportunities to shape decisions that affect their lives. • Ensure we include those who don’t typically participate. • Create a culture where varying perspectives are welcomed to inform change and innovation. • Maximize the knowledge, talent and capacity of Prince George residents. • Facilitate connections, discussions and working groups. • Make it easy for locals to find resources that affect community members' well-being, mental health, and everyday lives, so that neighbours can help neighbours.

Create Stronger Communities
• Embrace growth and investment that is thoughtful, financially responsible, sustainable over the long term, shaped by residents' expertise. Including finding better ways to address vacant buildings and activate underused spaces. • Create safe and welcoming neighbourhoods where homes, shops and gathering spaces cater to northern living. • Invest in shared spaces such as parks, gardens and public art that celebrate what makes PG and support connections between neighbourhoods through trail, cycling and recreation infrastructure.

Open City Hall
• Improve the overall relationship between the City and residents through engagement, transparency and accountability. Including streamlined processes between the City and residents, such as applying for permits, accessing services or opening a business. • Build a healthy City Hall where differing opinions are welcomed, heard and used to guide a path towards a vibrant Prince George. • Create a workplace worthy of the people who serve our city. • Create connection within City Hall, strengthening partnerships, communication and collaboration with provincial agencies, service providers and community organizations. • Build on transparency to the public by setting clear goals and providing measurable results that inform future work.
Meet Nicole
At 26, I started my undergraduate degree in Northern and Rural Community Planning at UNBC on the same day my youngest son started kindergarten. Years later, my oldest son and I convocated on the same day. He earned his biology degree, and I earned my graduate degree in political science. Sharing that day with him is something I’ll always cherish. Now, I teach community engagement and inclusion at UNBC.
I love riding the trails at Otway and Pidherny in the summer and skiing at Hart Ski Hill, Otway and Powder King in the winter. I love that we have events like Coldsnap, a creative community, and so many opportunities to come together throughout the year. People here put their time, talent and heart into making this a place we want to be.
We need to embrace that northern identity and recognize how much we have here. Our outdoor spaces, arts, culture, education and community life make Prince George a place for every generation.
I want young people to see a future here, families to have room to grow, and seniors to feel connected and valued. I’m proud of the life I’ve built here, and I want to put my experience to work helping more people find their own reasons to call Prince George home.
